It seems that we all love a good challenge and the amount of people participating in wordpress and bloggers weekly photo challenges would prove the point. First there are the group challenges such as:-

(I am sure that I’ve missed quite a few – please let me know of others and I will add in).
Should one of these challenges fail to pop up at its regular time the community is left bereft and feeling a little let down. However, being an adaptable and self-directed bloggers we rally and some brave soul steps into the breach to fill the gap or people set themselves personal challenges
I am thinking of proposing a new challenge called a ‘a word a week’ . Basically I will open the dictionary at a random page and pick a word. The challenge can be a photograph, poem, drawing or a written piece – whatever genre you like to express yourself in. Let me know if you like the idea.
However, this week it’s thirdeyemom who has thrown down the gauntlet in the absence of the weekly photo challenge (which I’m sure will happen at some stage) . She has proposed the theme of ‘COLOURS’
So guys if you are twiddling your thumbs out there join in

I love this idea. Just don’t start it on Friday. That day is busy, when WP does put in a challenge, as well as Ailsa’s Travel Theme. I’m in!

I also have been wondering where the weekly photo challenge has gone. I’ve been checking the IPod every couple of hours.

Thank you so much for entering my “last minute” challenge! I LOVE your colors/colours. Beautiful photo! Yes we are quite the blogging community aren’t we. I don’t think I’d be around so long doing this without it. As for your idea, I think it sounds fabulous! I won’t continue my challenge as this was a random event. But I like the unique creative idea of yours. Keep us posted and I’m sure it will be fun!
