A Word A Week Photography Challenge 2014 – 2015
Once a week I will dip into my old English Oxford dictionary and pick a word on the page it falls open at. The challenge is to post a photograph, poem, story – whatever the genre you like best to describe of what that word means to you. Put a link back to my weekly challenge post so others can take part if they wish.
I’m loving other bloggers posts who pick up the gauntlet and because they are so good and so much thought been put into them I am also going to reblog one or two other participants entries a week to share with you all. I’ve been missing some posts so it would be really helpful if you could add a tag called ‘A Word A Week Photo Challenge’ so I can read and share with others.

Apologies for not realising this before – but i obviously have mislead quite a few people by putting please link back to my challenge page rather than weekly challenge post. So if you wish others to see your response to the weekly challenge please link back to the weekly challenge post not page. Sorry for the confusion.

A word a week challenge is a different way of getting people to participate in a group artistic project. I am sure you will get some colourful photographs of food and dogs and later of course great love poems. You are definitely the mother of the Challenge because in spite of all your journey blogs that you write you have the time to think up way to make people open up to you. I guess they open up to you just as a flower opens up itself to the rising sun. They enjoy the warmth you bring to them with your encouragement to write or photograph something new every day within the year. Your encouragement to the aspiring new photographer to see the blue in the light and not just the red’s and yellows. Your encouragement to some will be as hard to do as it is hard to drill a hole in an oak wood plank using the old hand brace and bit. And to some the encouragement and challenge will be as elusive as a cloud rushing by on a windy day. Round and round they will go trying to come up with an idea but in the end they will choose not to pursue the challenge but instead leave their cameras, computers and note pads unattended and just enjoy the nice weather outside. Of course they will do it with a smile because in their hearts they know that if they wanted to they could have done a wonderful job. I for one will not take up the challenge because I think it would be too hard to come up with ideas for all those words.
Thank You.
Jose

So do I post it on my blog and tag it with “a word a week . . .” title?
That’s right – don’t forget to add the tag ‘A Word A Week Photo Challenge’
I love this idea! Here is my idea of “weather” for your weekly challenge. 🙂

Alright, I feel really silly for saying this but I don’t understand how this photo challenge works. Where do I find the theme for every week, and where I do post a link to my contribution? I’d really like to participate but I’m confused.
Dont feel silly there a lots of things about this bloggin milarky that confund me too!. First follow my blog that way every time I post the challenge you will get notification, create a post as normal. Third add a tag ‘A Word A Week Challenge’ that way your post will pop when people type that title in the search under the reader. Now the complicated bit as far as I am concerned is adding a link in your blog back to my original post. This notifies me in my commnets that you have taken part. The link is the http://www.suellewellyn etc at the top of your page – just copy and paste it in I think – if anyone else knows any better please advise – good luck
OK, thank you, I’ll try it out. I think I need to link to a specific post of yours in order for you to get the pingback notification.

Many thanks untitled A – it is always an honour to receive an award 🙂

I love photo projects! Should I start at week one since I’m new to it or pick up where you are at?
I suggest you pick up where we are at as then it is relevent if I reblogg it. However, feel free to try the others as well if you find something appropriate 🙂
Cool thanks 🙂
I love the word of the week idea. How clever, but I don’t understand how to participate. I have a great picture for blue and light… not sure which it this weeks word. I am a newbe blogger, so I am just starting to get it. How do I join in the photo fun? Cheers.
Dear reblogger – first create a post, second add a link back in the post to my post on the word a week challenge (copy URL and paste) third, add subject and add tags as normal but add the tag ‘a word a week challenge’ fourth publish.
Its as easy as that 🙂 good luck
Blue is my all time favourite colour, so I am going to ave to pick up the gauntlet!! Back soon with a pingback!

I love your blog! Thank you for browsing “Happiness is so chic”!
I used to use this theme and your blog is making me think of going back to it. Are you using the standard menu setup?
Yes I do use the standard menu – I have not made any changes
Yeah, I set it up this afternoon, and noticed the menu can take up more than one line.
