Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” -Andre Gide
Ghost Gum – Australia
Makes a great abstract – nice mix of colour and texture
Love this – the textures are fantastic! Quote is excellent too – and so true 🙂
Although I have not commented much lately due to my insane schedule, I wanted you to know I have been enjoying your pictures very much. Happy Summer Solstice!
The colors are beautiful! Wonderful photo.
At first glance I thought it was some painting by some famous artist 😉 The quote is awesome too! 🙂
Beautifully shot and framed! I love what the shadows add to the composition too.
how can bark be so beautiful?
Good shot. Good detail.
WOooOOoOoow! This is up there with your best – absolutely fantastic. Just the colors I wear in the autumn and winter too. Extra plus for that. *smile

Wow…that’s incredible…I’ve never seen a gum tree. First thing that came to my mind was the song…Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he…
That is gorgeous! Wonderful shot. The bark of Eucalypts is one of the things I most adore, and miss about ‘home’, so thanks for sharing:)
Wow, that’s a terrific shot! =)
The Bluegum, one of my favourites. We probably have 100 on our farm! 🙂
It’s a whole universe in itself.
Is this from a tree or from some kind of wood panel? My guess is tree, and I think I can see some ants on the left hand side. It has an abstract feeling to it, think that is what caught my eye
It’s the bark from a tree 🙂
