The Surreal Landscapes of Bolivia

Salt plains of Uyuni

In the SouthWest of Bolivia there is a land of colourful, forbidding and surreal landscapes.

  

                 Old and active volcanoes rise from the flat land.

Lakes of many colours are filled with flamengoes

 Suc as Laguna Colorada

Some are so poisonous only the flamencos can walk the shores

  

Take a 3 day tour.  Its hard travelling, cold at night, the food is OK – you sleeping in dorms and the showers are cold but who cares when you get to see this kind of  scenery.

    

Besides you can have a dip in the hot springs and warm up by the mud springs and jump over the geyser before heading home.

 Don’t forget to play with the perspective on the salt plains.
